One time, I was brought in to consult for a major brand out of New York. They were trying to save money by downloading just one case for their POs and copying the paper that identifies that case as many times as it takes to fulfill the entire order.
Can you imagine the shortage claims this brand got?
That brand was under the delusion that they are SUPPOSED to appeal all shortage claims and any money not awarded to them was just fraudulent.
Once I figured out what they were doing, POOF, all of their shortage claims went away.
Too bad they were working with another agency who handled their ads. I actually sat in those meetings with that agency and watched them justify a .01 CTR with like 10,000 impressions.
But that's a story for another time.
What about grey market sellers? Isn't that annoying? It also feels wrong, right? Why should 32 Amazon sellers be legally allowed to sell Tide detergent? Something is not right there.
If you get grey market sellers on your listing, you can kiss your brand goodbye. You have to know how to handle that.
And that's pretty much the point of this gig.
